This notice explains what personal data investinginafricans.com collects, why, and what you can do about it. The site has no analytics, no cookies, no local storage and no third-party scripts or fonts. The one exception is the optional World Bank live data described below, which is requested only when you press a button.
Contact forms
When you send a form on this site, Humanity Solutions (KvK 71110178, Hamerstraat 67D, 2512 CX The Hague) is the sole controller of your data. We use your name, email, message and any form answers to handle and reply to your request (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). Marketing updates are sent by email only if you tick the separate optional box (Art. 6(1)(a)); unsubscribe via the link in every mail or by emailing connectwithus@humanitysolutions.net.
Submissions are processed in the Google Workspace account used by Humanity Solutions (trade name Foresight Transitions). Google is our processor; transfers to the US are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Humanity Solutions runs several brands and websites. Your submission may be shared across Humanity Solutions brands where needed to handle your request. It is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes.
We delete submissions 12 months after our last contact with you (automatic monthly clean-up). This includes marketing opt-ins, unless your address has been moved to a mailing tool that has its own privacy notice. You can ask for access, correction or deletion at any time via connectwithus@humanitysolutions.net, and you may complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
Live open data from the World Bank (optional)
The data explorer and the money corridors page show figures from the World Bank. These figures are not stored on this site. They are requested from the World Bank's public interface (api.worldbank.org) by your own browser, and only after you press “Load World Bank data”. Until then, nothing is sent to the World Bank.
When you press the button, the World Bank receives the technical information any website receives when it is contacted: your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. We do not receive that information, and we do not send the World Bank anything about you. The World Bank's own terms and privacy notice apply to that request (see worldbank.org). The legal basis is your consent, given by pressing the button (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can leave the page at any time. We do not remember your choice: the page asks again on your next visit.
The explorer keeps your selections (indicator, view, year, countries) in the address of the page, after the # sign, so you can bookmark or share them. That part of the address is not sent to any server.

What we collect through the introduction form
- Whether you are introducing yourself as African talent or as an investor.
- Your full name and email address.
- Your role and location, and what you're looking for.
- Your message (optional).
- The name of this site.
If you email us directly, we receive what you write and your email address.
Please don't include sensitive details such as health, religion, political views, or residence or immigration status. We don't need them to reply.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
We use your details to reply and, where both sides agree, to make an introduction. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before any agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); otherwise, our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We share your details with another person only after you agree to that specific introduction. We do not sell your details. Occasional updates by email are sent only if you tick the optional marketing box on the form.
Who processes it for us
- Google (Apps Script and Google Workspace): the form is delivered through a Google Apps Script that runs under Humanity Solutions' own Google account, and submissions and emails arrive in that account.
- Hostinger: hosts this website. Like most web servers, it keeps technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, time and page requested) to run and secure the site.
Transfers outside the EU
Google is a US company, so form data may be processed in the United States. Where that happens, the transfer relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, under which Google LLC is certified, or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses in Google's data processing terms.
How long we keep it
Introductions are deleted 12 months after our last contact unless they lead to an assignment. In that case we keep what tax and bookkeeping law requires (7 years) and delete the rest 2 years after the assignment ends. Hosting logs are kept by Hostinger for a limited period to run and secure the site.
Your rights
You can ask us for access to your data, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive it in a portable format. Email connectwithus@humanitysolutions.net. We reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling.
